We had a very special day today! In the morning we went to West End to learn about history from a cowboy! Yes, a cowboy from New Jersey. He sung many songs to us and we sang and clapped along. He started with "This Land is Your Land" which is one of our favorite songs! It reminded us of Ms. Savage and music class. Then we learned how to yodle! And, might I add, we have some excellent yodlers in the classroom - Kavon and Ayanna! We were surprised to learn that this cowboy had visited 48 of the 50 states and we all sang "I've Been Everywhere" with him!
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day this afternoon by making Irish Potatoes! We rolled them into small potatoes then rolled them in cinnamon. Next was the best part! We all tasted the Irish Potatoes! And, guess what??? Everyone in the whole class liked them! After we ate the Irish potatoes we did a little bit of school work then had an impromptu party. Selena and her mom brought in cupcakes, Doritos, and juice for us! We enjoyed the nice fresh air and played outside! It was a great day, but we are ready to get back to work tomorrow!

March Goes in like a Lion...
We started the month of March with a snow day, so it certainly came in like a lion. We are really hoping it will go out like a lamb!
Last week we celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday by reading several of his stories and doing some fun activities.
Our poem of the week was an excerpt from "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" and we all loved reciting it over and over. We even created a file of us reading it!
After we read "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" we decided to try to create our own rhyming words. Once we completed the rhymes we painted pictures of our creations. They are displayed in our school, along with one of Dr. Seuss's characters from the book.
On Friday we read "Green Eggs and Ham" then enjoyed some! Our preschool buddy class made green eggs and ham earlier in the day and left us the ingredients...cool whip and mint chocolate chip ice cream! Since it was so nice on Friday it was the perfect treat! Pictures will be posted soon showcasing our works of art!
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
